Leadership and Management: Role and responsibilities of working leaders; includes theories/techniques of effective leadership and concepts of human behavior in leadership situations; practice in maintaining standards of discipline, counseling/interviewing personnel, personnel management, problem solving techniques, and work distribution; and social issues. Management communications: Principles of oral and written communications applicable to working leaders. Includes planning and organizing for effective communication through visual and verbal support; preparation of correspondence; and methods of improving listening skills and decreasing barriers to effective communications.
